Writing

I have been a professional writer for over 15 years, a senior writer and staff writer for Australia’s best-selling fashion magazine Frankie, and a contributing writer to The Guardian, Matters Journal, The Big Issue, ABC, Smith Journal, SPACES, Russh Magazine, Penguin (Women of Letters Series) and many others.

My commercial clients have included Libra and TV production company Fremantle Media, for whom I was a scriptwriter. I’ve also created branded content for Levi’s, Australia Post, Switzerland Tourism and Endeavour College of Natural Health.

Reporting on the ground from New York Fashion Week, I interviewed Marvel costume designers, including Walé Oyéjidé Esq. (Ikiré Jones). I’ve interviewed countless artists and musicians: Debbie Harry, Anton Corbijn, Tank and the Bangas, Meshuggah. And I recently wrote the catalogue essay for Rosie Deacon’s exhibition Cockatoo Cavern Fever.

In 2018, I wrote and hosted Speaking of Which: The Science of Conversation, a live interactive comedy show at Melbourne Fringe Festival. It was directed by Gabi Barton (Discordia), produced by Aimee Carruthers (The Clams), and nominated for Best Show in the category of Words & Ideas.
